PIC Cruizer is a Compact USB PIC programmer, a very powerful stuff, in addition to a PIC-programmer function it can be used as a serial EEPROM programmer or a debugger with certain PICs having operating volatge of 5 vdc. Using of PIC Cruizer is much more comfortable and reliable than that of those Serial port programmers you can find all over.
Operating with 5 volts derived from the USB port and thus requires no external power supply for programming individual chips. Also in circuit serial programming can be done by disconnecting the power from the programmer board when the target has a independent supply. A complimentary programming board with ZIF socket is supplied with the kit which makes the kit a complete programmer.
This programmer board will be supplied with a complimentary programming board loaded with a 40 pin ZIF socket when connected , makes a complete programmer for 8, 14,18,28 and 40 pin devices. This programming board fits right above the main board making direct connections with the ICSP pins, thus no wiring required. The complete programmer just measures L=3", B=2", H= .75"
